The delegation led by the chairman of the committee held meetings in Morocco

The delegation of the State Committee on Affairs with Religious Associations is visiting Rabat, Morocco. Within the framework of the visit, the chairman of the State Committee held bilateral meetings with the heads of relevant state institutions and associations in order to strengthen cooperation.
The Chairman of the Committee met with Salim Al-Malik, Director General of the Islamic World Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (ICESCO). Ramin Mammadov gave detailed information about Azerbaijan's policy in the direction of strengthening interreligious and intercultural dialogue, Islamic solidarity, as well as the activities of the State Committee on Affairs with Religious Associations. Touching on the close cooperation relations between Azerbaijan and the organization, the chairman of the State Committee expressed his gratitude to the leadership of ICESCO for its activities in the direction of conveying the rightful position of our country to the world.
Director General of ICESCO, Salim Al-Malik, highly valued Azerbaijan, which is known as the center of multiculturalism in the world, where there has never been a conflict on religious and national grounds, taking a number of initiatives that contribute to interreligious and intercultural relations. He emphasized that the environment of tolerance in our country, care for multiculturalism and Islamic values have an important influence on the development of relations with ICESCO.
During the meeting, the importance of the international conference on "Interreligious harmony: promotion of peaceful coexistence" to be held in Rabat under the joint organization of the State Committee on Affairs with Religious Associations, ICESCO and the Embassy of the Republic of Azerbaijan in the Kingdom of Morocco was emphasized, and other issues of mutual interest were discussed.
Within the framework of the visit, Ramin Mammadov also met with Ahmed Abadi, the general secretary of Rabita Muhammadiya Ulema Union. The Chairman of the State Committee spoke about the exemplary state-religion relations of Azerbaijan, interreligious harmony, as well as our successes in the field of peaceful coexistence. He said that in Azerbaijan, attention is constantly paid to the religious sphere, that President Ilham Aliyev pays special attention to the protection of religious freedom, creation of equal opportunities for all religious communities, and further strengthening of the traditions of tolerance, as well as the national and moral values of our people.
It should be noted that the leadership of the State Committee on Affairs with Religious Associations   of the Republic of Azerbaijan, the delegation of Milli Majlis deputies and representatives of religious denominations operating in our country are on a trip to Rabat, Kingdom of Morocco, to participate in the international conference on "Interreligious Harmony: Promotion of Peaceful Coexistence" to be held on December 17.
