The delegation led by Ramin Mammadov, Chairman of the State Committee on Affairs with Religious Associations, held a meeting with Ciprian Vasile Olinici, State Secretary for Religious Affairs of Romania.
Welcoming the delegation, State Secretary Ciprian Vasile Olinici emphasized the importance of reciprocal visits in discussing issues of mutual interest and exploring cooperation opportunities in the field of religion between the two countries. He highlighted the shared values of the Azerbaijani and Romanian peoples, appreciating the multicultural and tolerant environment in Azerbaijan and underscoring the importance of studying Azerbaijan’s experience in this area.
Providing insights into state–religion relations and the multicultural environment in Azerbaijan, Chairman Mammadov noted that under President Ilham Aliyev’s leadership, significant importance is placed on preserving national, moral, and tolerant values. He stated that substantial efforts are being made to strengthen solidarity among different religions. Ramin Mammadov emphasized that representatives of various confessions have historically coexisted in Azerbaijan as one family in an atmosphere of mutual respect, and that the state continues to implement vital projects to further develop these traditions.
Regarding Azerbaijan’s contributions to the advancement of interreligious and intercultural relations, the Chairman asserted that events initiated and supported by Azerbaijan play a significant role in enhancing tolerance at the international level.
The meeting, attended by Director General Florin Frunza and Deputy Director General Cezar Păvălashcu, included discussions on issues of mutual interest in the religious sphere and emphasized the importance of further expanding cooperation in various relevant areas.
