On December 23, Chairman of the State Committee on Affairs with Religious Associations Ramin Mammadov met with the delegation led by Muzaffar Kamilov, Deputy State Advisor of the Republic of Uzbekistan and Rector of the International Islamic Academy of Uzbekistan, who was visiting Azerbaijan to participate in the Second Forum of Religious Figures of Azerbaijan.
The meeting highlighted the satisfaction with the traditionally close cooperation and mutual support between Azerbaijan and Uzbekistan across all areas. Discussions focused on future prospects for cooperation in the religious sphere and potential joint projects.
Chairman Mammadov stated that religious tolerance, recognized today as a paramount value, is a norm of coexistence for Azerbaijani society. He emphasized that the absence of discrimination and conflict on ethnic or religious grounds, along with the establishment of progressive national, cultural and religious relations based on mutual trust and respect, has positioned Azerbaijan as a leading example in this field.
Muzaffar Kamilov noted that religious dialogue, mutual understanding, tolerance, and solidarity are of great relevance not only regionally but also globally. M.Kamilov emphasized that the Second Forum of Religious Figures of Azerbaijan serves as an important platform for the exchange of ideas and experiences, promoting religion as a value contributing to peace, stability, and the moral development of society.
The meeting included also an exchange of views on other issues of mutual interest.
