On May 27, Ramin Mammadov, Chairman of the State Committee on Affairs with Religious Associations, met with Muhammad Abdul Rahim Al-Bayoumi, Secretary-General of the Supreme Council for Islamic Affairs of the Arab Republic of Egypt.
Chairman Mammadov briefed the guest on the measures taken under President Ilham Aliyev’s leadership to preserve the multicultural and tolerant environment in Azerbaijan and to promote interfaith dialogue internationally. He emphasized that Azerbaijan and Egypt maintain relations based on friendship and partnership, highlighting opportunities to further strengthen cooperation in interfaith dialogue and the promotion of progressive Islamic values.
Secretary-General Al-Bayoumi expressed gratitude for the warm hospitality and praised Azerbaijan’s initiatives in promoting spiritual unity, coexistence, peace, and understanding worldwide. He noted that mutual visits and meetings contribute positively to the development of bilateral relations, after which other issues of mutual interest were discussed.
