Chairman of the Committee met with President of the International Vesak Day Council

On May 6, Ramin Mammadov met with Prah Brahmapundit, President of the International Vesak Day Council.

During the meeting, Chairman Mammadov highlighted that under President Ilham Aliyev’s leadership, Azerbaijan has fostered a tolerant environment, making it a priority of state policy. He noted that Azerbaijan is among the rare countries where religious communities coexist peacefully, without discrimination or antisemitism. This long-standing tradition of coexistence forms the social foundation of multiculturalism in the country.

Ramin Mammadov shared information about the Committee’s efforts to support religious communities, promote interfaith dialogue, and ensure harmonious religious coexistence. The discussion also emphasized the global importance of correctly conveying the essence and humanistic values of religions, enhancing cooperation among followers of different faiths, and strengthening mutual trust.
