“One of the components of Armenia's aggressive policy is the destruction of material and cultural samples located in the occupied territories of Azerbaijan, including historical and religious monuments, as well as the distortion and appropriation of their history. As a result, for almost 30 years, thousands of historical monuments, which are material evidence of our existence and national identity in our ancient land of Karabakh, have been destroyed, and our national and cultural values have been insulted”, chairman of the State Committee on Religious Associations Mubariz Gurbanli told Trend.

M. Gurbanli noted that the video in the mosque, a victim of the Armenian aggression in Zangilan region, which was recently liberated from enemy occupation, and the fact of keeping pigs in the holy place once again confirmed the Armenian vandalism:

"Armenian savagery aimed at the material, cultural and historical heritage of Azerbaijan is not only an aggression against human culture, but also a crime and insult against the entire Muslim world. This fact is a clear indication of the ugly Islamophobic tendencies towards Muslim countries and peoples. In each of the divine religions, the destruction of the temple is considered a great sin. It seems that the crimes against humanity committed by Armenians, who use religion as a banner for their ugly purposes, do not comply with the humanist principles of any religion.

The Armenian state is responsible for its crimes against humanity and property and the destruction of cultural heritage in the occupied territories of Azerbaijan.

Although this action of the Armenian aggressors is condemned, unfortunately, it is not adequately addressed at the level of international organizations, major powers, especially Muslim countries. In many cases, they ignore these processes, and at best, they go through them in silence. Despite all their efforts, Armenians will not be able to change the course of history. Because the real history passes only through the truth, and the truth is one: Karabakh is the historical land of Azerbaijan, an integral part. Today, the mighty Azerbaijani state, restoring historical justice, is putting an end to this vandalism, which has been ignored by the whole world for years, and liberating our lands from occupation. As the President, Supreme Commander-in-Chief Ilham Aliyev noted, our surviving temples will be restored and the call to prayer will be heard in our mosques.
