"The philosophy of the foreign policy strategy defined by the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan is based on the principle of recognizing the equality of all subjects of the international relations system. One of the main factors at the heart of this policy is that Azerbaijan builds relations with all its partners on the basis of mutual respect. He expects the same attitude from his partners." Ramin Mammadov, Chairman of the State Committee on Affairs with Religious Associations, expressed these views during his speech at the closing ceremony of the Global Baku Summit of Religious Leaders.
R. Mammadov noted that the actors of the international relations system have always respected this position of Azerbaijan: "Because our country accepts that responsibility and dignity have the same influence in international relations. Therefore, it tries to contribute to the solution of global problems. The holding of an event in Azerbaijan, as prestigious as COP29, dedicated to the discussion of the problem that worries all of us, is a manifestation of this approach."
The Chairman of the State Committee said that the delegations of politicians, scientists, experts and statesmen coming to Azerbaijan from different countries of the world will discuss issues that will clarify many important questions about our future. This fact is an indicator of Azerbaijan's experience and intention to provide very good platforms for discussing global issues.
"The general content of the discussions held during the two days at the Global Baku Summit of Religious Leaders, the ideas and proposals put forward indicate that this event gave very important messages to the world community. He appealed to the countries of the world that today's environmental problems can only be solved thanks to the active participation and cooperation of all subjects. At the same time, he emphasized the importance of defining clear boundaries between the principles of dignity and responsibility in relation to global problems."
The Chairman of the State Committee said that Azerbaijan, which has been under occupation for 30 years, has experienced the serious consequences of ecocide. Today, our country promotes the principle of justice in the approach to nature and the environment. COP29 is the best expression of our intention.
Ramin Mammadov expressed his gratitude to the representatives of all the countries participating in this event as the head of the organization which is the co-organizer of the Summit. He emphasized that the documents to be adopted by the summit will give very important messages to the actors of global politics.
