As part of their visit to Türkiye, the delegation led by Ramin Mammadov, Chairman of the State Committee on Affairs with Religious Associations of Azerbaijan, met with Yavuz Yıldız, the Mufti of Kars Province.
In his welcome address, the Mufti commended Azerbaijan’s initiatives aimed at fostering Islamic solidarity and expanding relations among different cultures and religions, highlighting the country’s contributions to creating an environment of mutual trust. He emphasized that the iftar gathering organized in Kars holds particular significance for further strengthening unity and promoting a spirit of charity.
Chairman Mammadov underscored that Azerbaijan and Türkiye have historically been close, friendly, and fraternal nations. He noted that, under the successful policies of the presidents of both countries, bilateral relations have been further consolidated. Among the values uniting the two peoples, he highlighted the pivotal role of their shared culture, language, and religion. Furthermore, he emphasized that Azerbaijan consistently approaches issues of intercultural and interfaith dialogue with great care and stressed the importance of safeguarding the ideals of interfaith dialogue and multiculturalism as part of the common heritage of the world and humanity.
