On July 24, Ramin Mammadov, Chairman of the State Committee on Affairs with Religious Associations, met with bishop Rolf Baiers of the South Caucasus and Georgia Evangelical-Lutheran Church.
During the meeting, discussions centered on interfaith harmony, tolerance, and traditions of multiculturalism in Azerbaijan. The support provided by the state to religious communities and the promotion of mutual respect among different confessions were acknowledged as crucial factors in preserving religious diversity. It was emphasized that Azerbaijan’s contributions to interfaith dialogue serve as exemplary model.
The guests expressed appreciation for the attention and care extended to all religious communities, including the Lutheran community.
The meeting was also attended by Lemke Gothard Gunter Walter, pastor of the Evangelical Lutheran community in Baku, and Vera Nesterova, Chair of the “Savior” Evangelical-Lutheran community in Baku, as well as members of the Evangelical Lutheran community in Jena, Germany.
