THE CHAIRMAN OF THE STATE COMMITTEE MET WITH THE LEADERSHIP OF THE SYRIAC ORTHODOX CHURCH OF GERMANY

On June 19, the Chairman of the State Committee on Affairs with Religious Associations, Ramin Mammadov, met with the leadership of the Syriac Orthodox Church of the Federal Republic of Germany during their visit to our country.

Talking about Azerbaijan's exemplary model of state-religion relations, the state's policy in the realm of religion, the Chairman of the State Committee Ramin Mammadov pointed out that President Ilham Aliyev further advanced the traditions of tolerance and turned it into a state policy, that he always paid comprehensive attention and care to the religious field without making any distinction in relation to each religious confessions. He accentuated that as a result of this successful policy, the rich values ​​of tolerance and multiculturalism of Azerbaijan have been preserved. He stressed that in order to support the activities of religious denominations in Azerbaijan, the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan regularly allocates financial aid to religious communities.

Expressing his gratitude for the sincere meeting, Mor Julius Hanna Aydın, Archbishop for Ecumenical Affairs of the Syrian Orthodox Church pointed out that they highly appreciate the atmosphere of tolerance in Azerbaijan, all the efforts made by our country in the direction of beef up interreligious and intercultural relations, preserving various national-cultural values ​​and traditions of multiculturalism.

It was reported that Abuna Murat Uzel, Archdeacon of the Syriac Orthodox Mor Yaqub Dasruq Church in Germany, Susi Uzel, an employee of Fry University, Andreas Celik, chairman of the 12-member board of the Syriac community and the Syriac Church attented the meeting.
