Azerbaijani Delegation Held Meetings with Religious Figures in Igdır and Kars

The delegation led by Deputy Chairman of the State Committee on Affairs with Religious Associations of the Republic of Azerbaijan Gunduz Ismayilov, is on an official visit to Türkiye, where they met with members of the Associations of Ahl al-Bayt Scholars in the cities of Igdır and Kars.

During the meetings with religious figures, it was emphasized that relations between the two brotherly countries have been elevated to a high level and advanced to a qualitatively new stage as a result of the leadership of the heads of state.

Attention was drawn to the fact that state–religion relations in Azerbaijan are built on solid foundations, with fully assurance of freedom of religion and equal conditions created for all religious communities. It was noted that the values of tolerance and multiculturalism constitute one of the defining characteristics of Azerbaijani society. The protection of the country’s historical and cultural heritage, national and moral values, as well as the restoration of places of worship, were highlighted as ongoing priorities.

Members of the Associations of Ahl al-Bayt Scholars highly appreciated the visit of the Azerbaijani delegation, noting that such meetings contribute to strengthening religious solidarity and further deepening mutual understanding. They emphasized that developing cooperation in the religious sphere serves the interests of both countries.
