On May 4, the Chairman of the State Committee on Affairs with Religious Associations, Ramin Mammadov held a meeting with the head of the American Center for Religious Freedom, as well as the founding executive director of the Baku International Multiculturalism Center in the United States, Janna Scott.
During the meeting, it was stressed that promoting multiculturalism and interreligious harmony, integral to Azerbaijani life, is a main focus of state policy. It was noted that President Ilham Aliyev places particular importance on the well-established regulation of state-religion relations, established by National Leader Heydar Aliyev, and on enhancing traditions of tolerance. Additionally, attention was drawn to efforts in repairing and restoring religious monuments. The President also maintains regular meetings with religious leaders, showing keen interest in their needs and concerns.
