Deputy Chairman of the State Committee on Religious Associations Sayavush Heydarov has represented Azerbaijan at the Annual Conference on behalf of the Board of Directors of the Conference co-organized by the Muslim American Society and Islamic Circle of North America, at the invitation of Oussama Jammal, Secretary General at US Council of Muslim Organizations in the USA, on December 26-29, 2022, in “McCormick”, Chicago, USA.

Amid conference, the Deputy Chairman of the State Committee held meetings with Oussama Jammal, Secretary General at US Council of Muslim Organizations, Hasan Murat Merjan, the Ambassador of Turkiye to the United States and several Muslim communities. During the meetings, the realities about Azerbaijan have been conveyed to the interlocutors.

The exhibition of handicrafts of Muslims was organized within the event. The agreement has been reached in regards of demonstrating Azerbaijan’s stand at the event in the upcoming years. 30,000 American Muslims attended the conference.

Muslim American Society and Islamic Circle of North America are founders of the US Council of Muslim Organizations. The event is one of the leading Muslim conferences in the United States and worldwide which over 25,000 eminent persons attend. As an annual event, the conference covers a wide range of topics and interests, including interfaith, social justice, politics and civil society issues. The event encourages families of American Muslims to come together and covers all age groups and touches on a variety of topics.
