On October 20, Ramin Mammadov, Chairman of the State Committee on Affairs with Religious Associations, visited the Gum Mosque in Astara.
The Chairman of the State Committee said in a meeting with religious figures working in the mosque that the protection of multicultural values, the strengthening of the atmosphere of tolerance, and attachment to national and moral values are always in the center of attention. Repairing and restoring places of worship of various religions in our country, regularly providing financial assistance to religious institutions reflect the sensitive attitude of the state to religious values.
Touching on the importance of preventing the spread of foreign religious ideologies to the national and moral values of the Azerbaijani people, the transformation of religious bigotry into religious arrogance, fanaticism and extremism, Ramin Mammadov emphasized that religious education measures, as well as the activity of religious figures, are of great importance in the fight against these threats.
During the meeting, the clerics who voiced their opinions and suggestions expressed their gratitude to the President of Azerbaijan, Mr. Ilham Aliyev, for the education and upbringing of the young generation in the national spirit, as well as for the attention and care shown to the clerics.
