Chairman of the State Committee on Religious Associations (SCRA) of the Republic of Azerbaijan Mr.Mubariz Gurbanli met with newly appointed ambassador extraordinary and plenipotentiary of the State of Qatar to our country Faisal bin Abdullah Hamad Abdullah Al Hinzab.
Chairman of the State Committee congratulated ambassador on his diplomatic mission in Azerbaijan. He wished the diplomat success in expanding cooperation between the two countries, noted the importance of high-level development of relations between Azerbaijan and Qatar in all fields.
Mubariz Gurbanli informed the guest about the activities of SCRA and spoke about the recent work in our country on successful regulation of state-religious relations. He mentioned that the state-religious relations in Azerbaijan are regulated by law and the state provides all-round support to religious communities. The state of Azerbaijan takes care of preserving and developing of languages, religions, cultures and traditions of all ethnic groups and representatives of religious confessions. In our country synagogues, temples, mosques and churches are being built by the state support. The Chairman of the Committee stressed that the priority of preserving historical and spiritual heritage and traditional values in Azerbaijan, our loyalty to the ideas of tolerance and multiculturalism eventually make Azerbaijan an international model.
Ambassador Faisal bin Abdullah Hamad Abdullah Al Hinzab expressed his gratitude to the Chairman of the State Committee for sincere reception and highlighted the importance of the II Summit of World Religious Leaders in Azerbaijan last month, as well as he mentioned that Azerbaijan is known as an important country in playing the successful role on interfaith and intercultural dialogue. Ambassador also stressed that two friendly nations have similar values and there are multicultural and tolerant traditions and harmonious relations in our countries.
The perspectives of cooperation in the religious field and other issues of mutual interest were discussed at the meeting and at the end of the meeting the ambassador was presented books on religious tolerance in our country and the Armenian vandalism against our material and cultural heritage in arabic language by the SCRA.
