Chairman of the State Committee met with Advisor to the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan

On November13, Chairman of the State Committee on Religious Associations Mubariz Gurbanli met with the delegation led by Rustam Kasimov, Advisor to the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan, who is visit on the Republic of Azerbaijan in order to attend the II Baku Summit of World Religious Leaders.
The Chairman of the Committee touched upon the friendly relations which have historical roots between Uzbekistan and Azerbaijan, as well as the importance of relations within the framework in bilateral and international organizations.
Mentioning the proximity of cultures, languages and traditions, the moral and universal values from the depths of the ages on the basis of the relationship, Mubariz Gurbanli noted that National Leader Heydar Aliyev had elevated these ties to a higher level and now successfully continued by President Ilham Aliyev.
Speaking about the religious environment in the country, the Chairman of SCRA briefed them on President Ilham Aliyev’s constant care attention to the religious field, the activities of the Committee, well as the multicultural traditions, interfaith tolerance and harmony that exist in Azerbaijan
Chairman Mr Mubariz Gurbanli highlighted the importance of exchanging ideas and sharing experience in the fight against religious radicalism, as well as significance of cooperation on religious issues between relevant bodies of Azerbaijan and Uzbekistan.
Emphasizing the ever-expanding economic, political and cultural ties between Azerbaijan and Uzbekistan, Rustam Kasimov said that our peoples have many common features. He said that the political will of heads of both countries plays an important role in the development of comprehensive relations. The State Advisor underlined that they are interested in further deepening of religious relations between Uzbekistan and Azerbaijan, as well as the importance of sharing experience and expanding cooperation in this area.
