Chairman of the State Committee on Religious Associations  Mubariz Gurbanli received US Chargé d'Affaires William R. Gill in Azerbaijan on September 18.

Chairman of the State Committee on Mubariz Gurbanli welcomed the guest and said that there is a tolerant and multicultural environment in Azerbaijan. The state-religion relations are regulated by the Constitution and the Law on Freedom of Religious Belief.

Today, Azerbaijan is one of the countries that can be an example for tolerance and multicultural values. Different communities operate freely and in an atmosphere of mutual understanding.

US Chargé d'Affaires, William R. Gill expressed his gratitude for the sincere welcome and noted the necessity in the development of the cooperation in all fields including the fight against religious radicalism and extremism. He said that US and Azerbaijan are friendly and partner countries. William R.Gill stressed that Azerbaijan is a model of high tolerance and expressed his pleasure with the implementation of this policy at the state level.
