Delegation composed of representative from the State Committee on Religious Associations (SCRA) and Azerbaijan Institute of Theology (AİT) is on a working visit to Brunei.

Within the visit, the meetings have been held with Universiti Brunei Darussalam (UBD) Chancellor Dr. Hazri Haji Kifle and Vice-Cancellor of the Sultan Sharif Ali Islamic University (UNISSA), Associate Professor Dr Siti Sara binti Haji Ahmad.

Amid meeting, SCRA Deputy Chairman Gunduz Ismayilov gave information on relations between State and religion, current religious situation, Azerbaijan’s combat Islamophobia and annual worldwide events held in this direction. Mr. Ismayilov has emphasized Azerbaijan’s environment of tolerance as an example for the entire world adding lack of national, racial, religious discrimination.

Rector of Azerbaijan İnstitute of Theology, Assistant Professor Agil Shirinov has given detailed information about the reason of establishing the university he is representing, its activities and future plans. Mr. Agil Shirinov has stressed free admission to Azerbaijan Institute of Theology while speaking about professions and degrees.

At the time of meetings, discussions were held aiming to enhance relations between higher educational institutions, implement joint projects, teacher and student exchange programs and study global best practices in science and education within bilateral cooperation.

With the organizational support of the Embassy of Azerbaijan to Malaysia and Public Community “Idrak”, SCRA Deputy Chairman Gunduz Ismailov, Rector of Azerbaijan Institute of Theology, Assistant Professor Agil Shirinov, Assistant to the Rector Emin Orujov and senior expert on international relations of the Institute Shahin Alaskerov attend the working visit.
