Meeting was held with representatives from Vineyard Church of Turkey at the State Committee
July 23, Seyavush Heydarov, Deputy Chairman of the State Committee on Religious Associations (SCRA) met with Gurkan Chamsun, Chief Pastor of the Vineyard Church of Turkey, Levent Kimran, Head of the Vineyard Churches of Turkey and Aygun Chamsun, Turkish Channel Coordinator of SAT-7 for Azerbaijan.
Speaking about the centuries-old traditions of tolerant and friendly coexistence of Azerbaijani people, the exemplary religious policy pursued aimed at preserving and promoting those values, Deputy Chairman of the Committee Seyavush Heydarov said that historically shaped culture of high tolerance in Azerbaijan has a great potential for the security of society. The Deputy Chairman emphasized that as a result of the successful continuation of the policy by President Ilham Aliyev founded by National Leader Heydar Aliyev, an exemplary model of multicultural and coexistence has been shaped in Azerbaijan. He stressed that in the Republic of Azerbaijan, where the majority of the population being Muslim, representatives of all religious denominations are under the constant attention and care of the state. Equality of religious denominations before the law, restoration of places of worship of other religions, allocation of regular financial assistance to religious communities is an indicator of a perfect religious and spiritual environment that reflects the reality of Azerbaijan Mr. Heydarov noted.
Expressing satisfaction with the visit to Azerbaijan, Chief Pastor of the Vineyard Church of Turkey Gurkan Chamsun noted the brilliant model of coexistence and tolerance in our country and praised the work done in the direction of promoting the idea of multiculturalism and dialogue among civilizations.
At the end of the meeting, that discussed a number of topics of mutual interest, the guests were presented books published by the State Committee.
