Commemorations were held in churches and synagogues in Baku for the victims of the Khojaly tragedy

On February 25, religious communities across Azerbaijan held ceremonies to mark the 34th anniversary of the Khojaly genocide.

In various churches and synagogues in Baku, as well as among different religious communities, prayers were offered for the souls of the victims, and their memory was honored with deep respect.

As part of the commemorations, religious services were held at the Mountain Jews’ Synagogue, the Church of the Immaculate Conception of the Virgin Mary, and within the Seventh-day Adventist and Molokan Spiritual Christian communities.

Leaders and representatives of the religious communities emphasized that the Khojaly genocide was a crime not only against the Azerbaijani people but against all humanity. They stressed the importance of providing this tragedy with an international legal and political assessment, conveying historical truths to the global community, and ensuring justice. The events also highlighted that the solidarity of different religious confessions in national matters reflects the unity, mutual respect, and trust within Azerbaijani society.
