We are undoubtedly a part of the Islamic world. Azerbaijan has signed many firsts with its achievements in history. Today we are rightfully proud to be citizens of a country where women were first given the right to vote.
Ramin Mammadov, Chairman of the State Committee on Affairs with Religious Associations of the Republic of Azerbaijan, voiced these views at a panel meeting held within the framework of the conference on "Women in the Islamic world: traditions and challenges".
Reminding that the first female opera composer in the East, the first female aviator, and the first female film director were Azerbaijanis, the chairman of the committee said that this is only part of the facts that confirm that Azerbaijani women make important contributions to the development of progressive traditions in the Islamic world. He said that this also shows the greatness, wisdom and attachment to universal values of our people.
R. Mammadov, who said that after ending the occupation, our state created miracles in the liberated lands, said that one of the most sensitive directions in the reconstruction and construction works in Karabakh is the restoration of historical, religious and cultural monuments. He drew attention to the successful implementation of restoration works of historical and cultural monuments in Karabakh and East Zangezur by the Heydar Aliyev Foundation.
