SCRA Chairman met representatives of Azerbaijan Society of America

September 12, the Chairman of the State Committee on Religious Associations (SCRA) Mubariz Gurbanli met with the delegation led by the President of the Azerbaijan Society of America (ASA) Tomris Azeri.

Welcoming the guests, Mubariz Gurbanli gave detailed information of the activity directions of the State Committee, the state’s care for religion, as well as the work done aimed at promoting tolerant and multicultural values. Mr. Gurbanli has said that ensuring freedom of religion in Azerbaijan is a significant factor underlying the relationship between state and religion. Every representative of religious confessions in our country is capable of preserving the material and spiritual culture, language, historical memory, and mentality.

Mubariz Gurbanli touched on the bright victory of our people in the 44-day Patriotic War under the leadership of President, Commander-in-Chief of Armed Forces Ilham Aliyev, stressed that Azerbaijan proved that its struggle had been a rightful act having won on the battlefield in the information space and political level.

Our compatriots, whose hearts constantly beat together with the Motherland, actively involved in the further strengthening of national solidarity around the idea of Azerbaijan in the direction of victory over the enemy, promotion campaigns on realities about Karabakh. The role of the ASA in delivering the truth about Azerbaijan to the American public is highly appreciated by society, the Chairman has concluded.

Expressing gratitude for the warm welcome, Tomris Azeri gave information of the activities of the Society, which she is representing and the projects implemented.

The delegation was presented books dedicated to the traditions of multiculturalism and tolerance in Azerbaijan, as well as our historical and religious monuments that had been subjected to vandalism published by the SCRA.
