The Chairman of the State Committee held a number of meetings during his visit to Rabat

On December 17, during his visit to Rabat, the Chairman of the State Committee on Affairs with Religious Associations, Ramin Mammadov, met with the Minister of Religious Endowments and Islamic Affairs of the Kingdom of Morocco, Ahmed Toufig, and Andre Azouley, adviser to His Majesty Mohammed VI of Morocco.
The Chairman of the Committee noted that Azerbaijan has made great efforts in the direction of strengthening solidarity between different religions, and said that the events and bilateral meetings serve to establish stronger mutual relations and the development of peace and dialogue. Speaking about our country's contributions to the development of inter-religious and inter-cultural relations, the Chairman of the Committee reminded that representatives of different denominations lived in friendly conditions in Azerbaijan historically as members of one family.
R. Mammadov spoke about the destruction of material and cultural examples, as well as the places of worship of Islam and Christianity during the more than 28 years of occupation and military aggression by Armenia. He also informed about the restoration and construction works carried out in our territories freed from occupation after the Patriotic War.
In both meetings, the participants appreciated the initiatives put forward by Azerbaijan in the direction of establishing unity in the world and talked about the contributions to the strengthening of intercultural and religious relations and multicultural values. It was stated that the achievements of Azerbaijan in this field are considered as a successful example in the world.
It should be noted that the delegation that visited the city of Rabat, Kingdom of Morocco in order to participate in the international conference on "Interreligious harmony: promoting peaceful coexistence" on December 17, includes the leaders of the State Committee on Affairs with Religious Associations, deputies and representatives of various denominations operating in our country.
