On June 12, the delegation led by the Chairman of the State Committee on Affairs with Religious Associations, Ramin Mammadov, held a meeting at the Patriarchate of Georgia. Chairman of the State Committee Ramin Mammadov drew attention to the friendly and cooperative relations between the two countries and emphasized the importance of interreligious and intercultural dialogue during the meeting with the bishop of the Catholicos-Patriarch of All Georgia, Metropolitan Theodore.

Metropolitan Teodor noted that mutual relations are developing successfully in all fields, and expressed confidence that this visit will serve to further deepen cooperation. During the meeting, views were exchanged on issues related to the expansion of relations in the realm of religion.

The delegation also visited Juma Mosque in Tbilisi. Chairman of the State Committee Ramin Mammadov, Azerbaijani Ambassador to Georgia Faig Guliyev and members of the delegation met with religious figures of the Georgian Muslim Administration and presented the "Holy Quran" published in the Azerbaijani language to the mosque.

During the meeting, the friendly relations between Azerbaijan and Georgia, the role of religious institutions in the development of bilateral relations were discussed.

Talking about the exemplary model of multiculturalism and tolerance of Azerbaijan, state-religion relations in our country, R. Mammadov noted that President Ilham Aliyev always pays comprehensive attention to the religious sphere, and thanks to this attitude, the exemplary environment of coexistence is further strengthened. The Chairman of the Committee emphasized the importance of the commitment of our compatriots in Georgia to the Azerbaijani identity, national and moral values, and the preservation of these values.

The Azerbaijani delegation also visited the pantheon where prominent Azerbaijanis are buried in the Botanical Garden in Tbilisi. The members of the delegation laid flowers at the tombs of the founders of the Azerbaijan Democratic Republic - Fatali Khan Khoyski, Hasan Bey Agayev, great writers - Mirza Fatali Akhundov and his family members, Mirza Shafi Vazeh, and paid tribute to their memory.
