Meeting with the Turkish and Tatar Communities held at the Romanian Parliament

On March 4, the delegation led by Ramin Mammadov, Chairman of the State Committee on Affairs with Religious Associations, held a meeting with representatives of the Turkish and Tatar communities at the Romanian Parliament.

During the meeting, Murat Yusuf, Mufti of the Muslim community of Romania, provided insights into the country’s religious environment and the conditions established for the activities of the Muslim community. He noted that during his visit to Azerbaijan, he observed exemplary relations of friendship and brotherhood among religious communities, which he described as highly commendable. Emphasizing the role of interfaith dialogue in addressing global challenges and ensuring peaceful coexistence, the Mufti highlighted Azerbaijan’s significant contributions in this area.

Chairman Ramin Mammadov stated that in line with the strategic vision defined by President Ilham Aliyev, Azerbaijan continues to develop a model of state-religion relations based on tolerance and ethnic and religious harmony. He underlined that religious and ethnic diversity are key indicators of Azerbaijan’s multicultural richness and stressed that the Azerbaijani state places great importance on preserving national and moral values, restoring historical and cultural monuments, and promoting tolerance.

The meeting, attended by Member of Parliament Ahmet Varol, Shamsi Turan (Chairman of the Bucharest Branch of the Democratic Union of Turks in Romania), and Osman Harun (Chairman of the Youth Organization of the Democratic Union of Turks in Romania), included an exchange of views on the prospects for future cooperation.
