Chairman of the Committee met with Germany’s Federal Commissioner for Religious Freedom
On June 25, the delegation led by Ramin Mammadov met with Thomas Rachel, Germany’s Federal Commissioner for Religious Freedom.
Discussions focused on prospects for interfaith dialogue and cooperation between Azerbaijan and Germany.
Chairman Mammadov provided detailed information on Azerbaijan’s state-religion relations, traditions of religious tolerance, and multiculturalism, emphasizing the country’s commitment to peaceful coexistence among different faiths and ethnic groups. He highlighted the protection of freedom of conscience, the preservation of long-standing traditions of tolerance, and the restoration of historical-religious monuments.
Thomas Rachel praised Azerbaijan’s attention to religious diversity and interfaith harmony, noting both countries’ interest in expanding cooperation in this field. Other mutually interesting topics were also discussed.
