Chairman of the Committee met with Vietnam’s Minister of Ethnic Minorities and Religious Affairs
During his visit to Vietnam on May 6, Ramin Mammadov met with Dao Ngoc Dung, Minister of Ethnic Minorities and Religious Affairs of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam.
The Chairman highlighted that under the leadership of President Ilham Aliyev, Azerbaijan consistently implements measures to develop and promote national moral values, traditions of tolerance, and multiculturalism. He shared information on the state-religion relationship, the current situation in the religious sphere, and Azerbaijan’s efforts in fostering interfaith dialogue. He noted that historical and cultural heritage, national and moral values, as well as religious and cultural monuments, are carefully preserved and restored in the country. Emphasizing Azerbaijan as a multiethnic and multi-confessional state, Ramin Mammadov stated that interfaith harmony and traditions of peaceful coexistence are characteristic features of the Azerbaijani people. He also extended an invitation to Minister Dao Ngoc Dung to visit Azerbaijan.
Minister Dao Ngoc Dung expressed his pleasure in accepting the invitation, noting the significance of experiences from countries with traditions of tolerance and interfaith dialogue. He commended Azerbaijan’s advancement of dialogue and partnership among civilizations and discussed prospects for cooperation in the religious field. The discussions also covered other mutually interesting topics, with both sides agreeing that promoting tolerance, interfaith dialogue, and peaceful coexistence internationally aligns with their common goals.
