The Chairman of the State Committee spoke at the International Muslim Forum held in Moscow

Ramin Mammadov, Chairman of the State Committee on Affairs with Religious Associations spoke at the 20th International Muslim Forum on the topic "The way of peace: dialogue as the basis of harmonious coexistence".
The Chairman of the State Committee said that Azerbaijan has always demonstrated a unique approach based on interreligious dialogue and mutual respect. He noted that under the leadership of President Ilham Aliyev, Azerbaijan is recognized in the world as a country where religious tolerance and multiculturalism are supported at the level of state policy. The state policy regarding religious institutions is aimed at ensuring freedom of religious belief and creating favorable conditions for the activity of religious communities. More than 950 religious communities representing various religious confessions operate in Azerbaijan.
Ramin Mammadov gave information about the works carried out in the direction of restoration and reconstruction of mosques and other religious temples that were destroyed and insulted in our territories freed from occupation. He stressed that the Heydar Aliyev Foundation, led by First Vice-President Mrs Mehriban Aliyeva, has successfully carried out the mission of restoration and conservation of historical monuments.
Speaking about the friendly relations between Azerbaijan and Russia, Chairman of the State Committee said that the declaration of alliance signed in 2022, as well as the visit of the President of the Russian Federation to Baku last month, are important steps that serve to further expand relations. He noted that the positive spirit of bilateral relations creates a good basis for the development of relations in all fields, including religious institutions.
Stating that the Summit of World Religious Leaders will be held within the framework of the COP29 conference, which will be hosted by Baku, Ramin Mammadov expressed his confidence that this platform will once again prove the importance of the joint action and dialogue of religious leaders.
The Chairman of the State Committee wished success to the work of the forum where discussions were held in the direction of strengthening dialogue, mutual understanding and cooperation between religious communities.
