Chairman held a number of meetings in the United States

Ramin Mammadov, Chairman of the State Committee on Affairs with Religious Associations, continued his visit to the United States with a series of meetings.

During the meeting with Natali Gochnur, Director of the Kem C. Gardner Policy Institute, Chairman Mammadov spoke about the importance of religious education in Azerbaijan, including the activities of the Azerbaijan Institute of Theology. He noted that, as part of expanding international cooperation in religious education, partnerships have been established with institutions in various countries, including student exchanges and joint research projects.

Natali Gochnur commended Azerbaijan’s integration of religious diversity, tolerance, and cultural harmony as an inseparable part of state policy, highlighting the special interest in the country’s experience in the fields of interreligious dialogue, cultural diversity, and social integration.

Chairman Mammadov also met with Kelly Haws, Secretary of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints’ Board for Education, and Sharon Yubenk, Director of the Church’s Charitable Center. The discussions covered state–religion relations in Azerbaijan, the state policy in the religious sphere, and opportunities for cooperation in religious education and humanitarian initiatives.

Additionally, a meeting was held with Jonathan Friedman, Executive Director of the Utah World Trade Center, during which joint initiatives in the areas of interreligious dialogue and civil society development were discussed.
