Azerbaijani Delegation met with representatives of various religious communities in Germany
On June 24, the delegation led by Ramin Mammadov met with Abdassamad El-Yezidi, Chairman of the Central Council of Muslims in Germany.
In the meeting, the Chairman discussed Azerbaijan’s efforts to preserve national-moral and multicultural values, ensure freedom of belief, promote global peace and interfaith dialogue, advance universal values, and address global challenges such as Islamophobia and xenophobia. He also highlighted Azerbaijan’s experience in promoting Islamic solidarity initiatives.
Abdassamad El-Yezidi stressed that the rise of Islamophobia makes the promotion of unity and mutual support crucial, praising Azerbaijan’s approach.
During a meeting with Daniel Botman, Executive Director of the Central Council of Jews in Germany, discussions focused on Azerbaijan’s active role in promoting tolerance, interfaith dialogue, and hosting international conferences and forums on these topics. The importance of high-level visits and meetings in expanding bilateral relations was also emphasized.
The delegation also visited the Syriac Orthodox Mor Yaqub Dasruq Church in Germany, where they received information on the church’s history. Chairman Mammadov highlighted the state’s consistent care for religious, cultural, and historical monuments, including the preservation, restoration, and maintenance of religious sites.
