The Chairman of the Committee met with the members of the US delegation
On October 28, Ramin Mammadov, Chairman of the State Committee on Affairs with Religious Associations, met with members of the delegation of the Interreligious Neighborhood Network of the United States.
At the meeting, the Chairman of the Committee spoke about the environment of dialogue and centuries-old traditions of tolerance in our country and informed about the state policy implemented in the field of protection of multicultural values under the leadership of the President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev. He said that ensuring freedom of religion and creating favorable conditions for the activity of religious communities are among the priorities of the state's religious policy. More than 950 religious communities representing various religious confessions operate in Azerbaijan, monuments belonging to all religions are protected. During the conversation, Ramin Mammadov recalled his visit to the United States and emphasized that all efforts aimed at further development of cooperative relations are of special importance.
Bob Roberts, co-founder of the Interreligious Neighborhood Network, president of the Institute of Global Affairs and senior pastor of the "Northwood" church in Texas, noted that the members of the delegation witnessed the atmosphere of coexistence during their short stay in our country. Within the framework of the visit, he pointed out that a number of issues of mutual interest will be discussed at the event organized by the representatives of the Interreligious Neighborhood Network together with the religious communities operating in Azerbaijan.
