On May 21, Ramin Mammadov, Chairman of the State Committee on Affairs with Religious Associations, met with Birol Akgun, the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Türkiye to Azerbaijan.

The meeting underscored the unprecedented brotherly relations between the peoples and countries, emphasizing the historical roots and strategic alliance-level relations between Türkiye and Azerbaijan. The significance of successful cooperation between the State Committee and Türkiye’s Directorate of Religious Affairs, as well as between the Azerbaijan Institute of Theology and educational institutions in Türkiye, was discussed.

The importance of joint initiatives, including Iftar events organized during Ramadan in Igdır and Kars to reflect solidarity and unity was highlighted, alongside prospects for continued collaboration. The new Turkish Ambassador expressed confidence that his tenure would contribute to further deepening these relations.
