Chairman of the State Committee met with President of Religious Affairs (Diyanet) of the Republic of Türkiye
On December 23, Chairman of the State Committee on Affairs with Religious Associations Ramin Mammadov met with the delegation led by Safi Arpagush, President of Religious Affairs (Diyanet) of the Republic of Türkiye, during their official visit to Azerbaijan.
The meeting emphasized the successful development of friendship, brotherhood, and strategic alliance between Azerbaijan and Türkiye across all fields. The importance of experience-sharing in the context of state–religion relations was noted, and views were exchanged on opportunities to expand bilateral cooperation.
Chairman Mammadov stated that the Second Forum of Religious Figures of Azerbaijan serves as an important platform for discussing issues related to strengthening religious solidarity, promoting healthy religious thinking, and developing state–religion relations based on constitutional principles. He noted that the theme of the Forum is particularly relevant in terms of promoting secularism and freedom of conscience.
Safi Arpagush emphasized that Azerbaijani–Turkish brotherhood is further strengthened through exemplary cooperation in the religious sphere and expressed confidence that relations between the relevant institutions of the two countries will continue to thrive in the future. He highlighted the Forum’s special significance in facilitating experience-sharing and professional development among religious figures.
The meeting continued with discussions on other issues of mutual interest.
