On May 27, the Chairman of the State Committee on Affairs with Religious Associations, Ramin Mammadov, met with Bob Roberts, co-founder of the U.S. Multi-Faith Neighbors Network.

Chairman Mammadov highlighted that the primary goal of Azerbaijan’s state-religion policy is to preserve national and religious unity, prevent radical tendencies, and strengthen social cohesion. He emphasized that the Azerbaijani state values democratic coexistence based on legal principles, promotes a tolerant environment and multicultural values, and pays close attention to preserving the cultural and spiritual heritage of all religious communities.

Bob Roberts shared his impressions of the existing interfaith harmony and tolerant environment in Azerbaijan, noting that the country is one of the few where followers of different religions live peacefully and interact harmoniously. During the meeting, opportunities for cooperation were discussed, focusing on joint initiatives to advance interfaith dialogue and strengthen trust.
